Kanye West Announces the Release Date for “Donda 2”

Kanye West has set a date for the release of his next studio album, “Donda 2,” that will be executive produced by Future.

Ye, formerly Kanye West, has announced the release date for his highly anticipated upcoming studio album, Donda 2. Ye announced on Instagram on Thursday morning that the new album will be released on February 22, 2022 (2/22/22). (January 27).

Ye revealed that the new album is executive produced by Future by posting a photo of his childhood home on fire (the same one from his Donda listening sessions) with the album’s release date juxtaposed on top. It’s understandable that they’ve spent a lot of studio time together recently, given his recent buddy-buddy sessions with the Atlanta-based rapper. Some fans are perplexed by Future’s participation in an album dedicated to Ye’s late mother. Future has been dubbed “toxic” by the hip-hop community due to his numerous relationship issues over the years, and it’s unclear how his sound will blend with Ye’s on Donda 2.

The rollout started a few weeks ago with the release of The Game’s new single “Eazy.” In his now-famous lyrics, Ye takes aim at Pete Davidson, as well as the Kardashians, saying, “I got love for the nannies, but real family is better/The cameras watch the kids, y’all stop takin’ the credit.”

Ye has been seen in the studio with everyone from Jay Electronica to Blueface while working on Donda 2. It’ll be interesting to see how the tracklist comes together in the end.
