Kanye West has been banned from Twitter for inciting racism and antisemitism for the second time in recent months. Before Elon Musk took control of the site in October, West had been banned for saying he wanted to “kill con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE.” A little over a month later, Musk—who is now Twitter’s owner and CEO—restored West’s account and welcomed him back.
When West was given access to Twitter again, he frequently shared a picture of a swastika inside a Star of David. Musk confirmed that it led to his suspension for breaking Twitter’s policies against inciting violence.
In the days leading up to his suspension, West made a series of unsettling and disgusting comments while glorifying Adolf Hitler and Nazis on conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ InfoWars. Nicholas J. Fuentes, a white supremacist, antisemite, and Holocaust denier, joined West on InfoWars.
Yesterday also saw the public announcement that West will no longer be purchasing Parler, a social media platform that advocates for free expression and rails against censorship on popular social media.
