This weekend, CHII WVTTZ, a promising young rapper from The Bronx, was reportedly shot and killed.
CHII WVTTZ, an 18-year-old drill rapper from the Bronx, was reportedly shot and killed this weekend. The rising rapper and DOA affiliate is no longer with us, according to a social media post made by someone identifying as the young rapper’s “best friend.”
“I never thought I’d be writing RIP next to your name no time soon,” Chii’s friend wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of the rapper. “I love you always and forever.”
The circumstances of Chii Wvttz’s death are unknown, but it is believed that the rapper was shot and killed. The teen rap star was on the verge of national success, carving out a name for himself alongside Kay Flock and other rising drill rappers. “Demons,” one of his releases from last year, was well-received by fans, as were a few other records.
This is the latest in a disturbing trend of shooting-related deaths in the hip-hop community. Due to similar circumstances, we have said goodbye to Young Dolph, Wavy Navy Pooh, Tdott Woo, and Slim 400 in the last year.
As the New York hip-hop community mourns Chii Wvttz’s death, we offer our heartfelt condolences to the rapper’s family, friends, loved ones, collaborators, and fans. Scroll down to see some tribute posts.
