Bruno Mars performed his first ever show in Israel on Wednesday night. He canceled his second concert, which was scheduled for tonight in Tel Aviv, after a surprise Hamas attack escalated the ongoing Israel-Palestinian conflict. According to The New York Times, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that his country is now “at war” with Hamas and that he seeks “victory.”
“The Bruno Mars concert scheduled for tonight has been canceled,” Live Nation Israel said in a Hebrew statement. “All ticket purchases to the show will receive an automatic refund to the credit card through which the purchase was made.”
According to the Associated Press, at least 70 Israelis were killed and hundreds were injured as a result of this morning’s missile attack. According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, Israel’s retaliation killed at least 198 people and injured over 1,600 more in the Gaza Strip. The Associated Press reported in August that Israeli forces had killed over 200 Palestinians in the West Bank this year, the highest number per year since 2005.
